Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented California Shoreline
An aircraft flying above a well-attended coastal beach abruptly began spiraling out of control, eventually dropping height and crashing into a line of palm groves as beachgoers observed.
Footage shared on the internet show the chopper beginning to twirl over the beach then descending in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged among palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Details
Local firefighters said five people were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the road were harmed. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.

Officials indicated the helicopter was linked to an yearly “Cars with Copters” charity gathering scheduled for Sunday.
